Eye Contact

A window to the soul.

They say the eyes never lie.

One of the most powerful ways to feel a connection is to lock eyes.

Intense? Yes.

Scary? Yes.

😱

Oh, the horror.

But the moment a gaze is held steady, the surroundings seem to settle.

It says for now, we are both here together.

And together we shall remain :)

You are mine forever mwuahaha. Just kidding.

But this is often the underlying fear we all face.

I am vulnerable and exposed.

Can they see my shame?

Do they know what I did last night?

Who will surrender to who?

At least this is how I felt every moment working finance in my early 20s.

But those days are long gone.

I call the shots now (we).

Back to the article.

It’s easier to focus with eye contact.

Whether you’re focused on a vision, task, or the actual person in front of you.

Open your eyes.

This is why when we first meet, I pay careful attention to meet your gaze.

Sometimes it’s subtle and happens naturally.

Other times I make a playful effort to nudge you.

To ground you calmly.

To make you present.

To forget about what happened earlier.

The external world exists only to the extent we pay attention to it.

When we are together, our private world is the one that matters.

Filled with peace, love, fun, play, joy and whatever else we make of it.

Of course, I do this on my own already.

But four eyes are better than two.

Eight eyes, if we both wear our glasses.

Give me your attention.

And I’ll give you the world.

🥂
